After a tremendously successful workshops in 2011 and 2012, we return to Santa Fe again in 2013. in Our class will be held on a 13,000 acre property outside Santa Fe, New Mexico, and other glorious properties in the area.

Our time begins with a dinner Tuesday night in Santa Fe. Each day Wednesday through Saturday, we will start out early and shoot until around noon. When we break for lunch, we’ll take time to go over any technical questions that may come up. Then it’s back to shooting in dramatic afternoon light.

Sample feedback from the 2011 workshop:

“Home after an invigorating week in Santa Fe with Allen Birnbach. His workshop was the most challenging and rewarding of any I’ve taken these past few years. It was inspiring to work hard, to reap the benefits of Allen’s feedback and to share it all with the excellent company of other photographers. Kudos!” -Bernard Gateau

“Allen’s workshop was a powerful way to revitalize my creative vision. He is both a talented artist and a skillful instructor with a patient and persistent presence for his students. Figure work is a new area for my photography, and Allen created an environment which was instructive, supportive, and inspiring.” -Joe D.

“Allen Birnbach’s Figure in the Landscape Workshop is an immersion course in figure photography. You are guided by a master photographer who will encourage you to develop your personal photography style. Like a GPS guide, Allen will give you the direction, it is up to you to decide how fast or slow you get there, and how wide or narrow the turn.” -Martin Tsien

For this to work best, it is recommended that participants shoot with digital cameras and bring a laptop for editing. Although you are welcome to shoot film, feedback on your efforts would certainly be limited.

Cost: $1175. tuition plus $350. model fee. Maximum of 14 participants.
